Dave Kotlan

“Northwest film director Dave Kotlan has written and directed dozens of narrative films, including the award-winning shorts “The Package” and “Angel and the Bear,” the television pilot “TOAST,” and the web series “CastAside.” Directing everything from comedies, to sci-fi dramas and musicals, Dave’s distinctive style knits an intimate, moral narrative into the fabric of all his stories, regardless of the genre.

Formerly a professional recording artist and touring musician as lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter for the band Vertigo Bliss, Dave found a parallel between film and music that turned his appetite for writing and performing songs into a passion for writing and producing visual media with other creative minds. This artistic rejuvenation prompted Dave to get his B.A. in Film and pursue a new career path in the film industry.

In 2015, Dave opened his own media production company, Boson Films, where he writes and directs commercial content. Then, in 2018, Boson Films partnered with another studio to create “See Us Now”; a portal of learning for students and professionals of the Arts. See Us Now brings together local, national, and internationally known professionals as instructors to teach live, in-person classes, which are recorded and made available to any student worldwide. In 2020, Boson Films acquired sole ownership of See Us Now, and is gearing up for a new platform release. Dave is currently in pre-production on several personal narrative projects for theatrical, web, and home release.”
