Jeff Ferguson Bio
Full-time freelance photo/videographer Jeff Ferguson is a Spokane Tribal member who is a single father that holds an A.A.S. in Photography from Spokane Falls Community College, a B.A. in Communications from Whitworth University and is currently finishing his M.B.A. at Gonzaga University. He has served as a panelist for Artist Trust in Seattle and was appointed to the Spokane Arts Commission by former Spokane City Mayor Mary Verner.
Born in Pullman, WA he was raised and currently resides in Spokane, WA. He has lived, worked and traveled extensively throughout the U.S and abroad.
Much of his inspiration is derived from the beauty of the Northwest, his Native heritage and from great photographers like Gordon Parks, Edward Curtis, Lewis Hine, Richard Avedon, Mary Ellen Mark and other great artists like George Flett and Andy Warhol.
Current issues, true-life events and the unique individuals he has met along his journey inspire his editorial and documentary work.
Although most of his work is commercial, editorial, portraiture and sports photography his true passions lie in fine art photography, documentary video, cultural preservation and raising awareness to current and ongoing issues facing Indian Country.
