Biography
Gerri Newell is a screenwriter based in Spokane, Washington, with a background as a mediator, TEDx speaker with a lifelong passion for storytelling. A graduate of Eastern Washington University with a degree in English, Gerri brings a sharp analytical mind and a deep understanding of character and structure to her screenwriting. She made a bold transition into screenwriting, where her ability to craft compelling narratives and layered dialogue has found its true home.
Gerri has studied under acclaimed story expert Robert McKee, completing his intensive Story Seminar, and continues to develop original screenplays grounded in emotional truth, moral complexity, and cinematic tension. Her work often explores themes of justice, identity, and transformation—reflecting both her legal background and her creative sensibilities.
